Quick Start

This section is for users who want to start using the robot quickly without reading the full documentation first.

Step 1: Charge the robot

If the robot is not charged, connect it using a USB-C cable.

The robot charges from a standard USB power source. Charging time depends on the charger, charging cable, and battery level. If the battery is empty, it usually takes about 1 to 2 hours to fully charge.

Low battery

When the battery is low, the robot shows a warning on the screen or LEDs.

You may also notice:

  • the robot drives more slowly
  • the arm feels weaker
  • the robot reacts less strongly than usual

If this happens, recharge the robot before continuing.

Automatic power-off

To save battery, the robot turns off automatically after a period of inactivity if the app is not connected to the robot.

Step 2: Turn the robot on

Press and hold the on/off button for 3 seconds and wait for the robot to start.

If a QR code appears on the robot's screen, the robot has powered on correctly and is in pairing mode.

Step 3: Connect the robot to the app

Open the Dotbots app and tap the Wi-Fi icon. A camera window opens. Use it to scan the QR code on the robot's screen.

If you do not want to use the camera, you can also select your robot by name in the same connection window. The app shows the names of all robots currently in pairing mode.

Scanning the QR code is recommended so you connect to the correct robot and do not accidentally pair with someone else's robot.

When the robot connects to the app, it performs an arm calibration.

Step 4: Let the arm calibrate

Each time you turn on the robot and connect it to the app, it calibrates its arm automatically.

The arm moves up and down by itself so the robot can understand its correct movement range. Let this process finish before pressing other controls. It should take about 5 to 6 seconds.

Step 5: Test basic movement

Open the Play section and choose Fighter Bot.

Use this mode to test:

  • forward and backward driving
  • left and right turning
  • arm movement
  • Honk for sound testing

This is the easiest way to check that the robot is working correctly.
