Dotbot Start v2 Quick Start

Use this guide if your robot is a Dotbot Start v2.

Before you begin​

  • Charge the robot with a USB-C cable
  • Install the Dotbots app
  • Place the robot on a flat surface with space to move

First setup​

  1. Hold the power button for 2 seconds
  2. Wait for the status ring to pulse blue
  3. Open the app and connect to Dotbot Start v2
  4. Run the default drive test
  5. Try the color-sensor demo or a simple Blockly program

First check​

If the robot does not move as expected:

  • verify the battery icon on the screen
  • make sure the wheels spin freely
  • confirm the app is connected over Bluetooth
  • check that the color sensor window is clean
